Not that I'm terrifically interested in Tiger Woods... but some people are. Matt Drudge, in particular. The Drudge Report's lead story day after day is Tiger, Tiger, Tiger.
If pressed, I would say that the right wing loves the idea that a 'mainstream'(mixed-race) black man turns out to be a alcohol-fueled lothario who lusts after white women serially.
I'm not so sure that Tiger Woods get so much attention from Drudge if we had a different president. What do you think? |

| Midnight Clear declared at University Park campus |
[Dec. 8th, 2009|02:13 pm] |
Snow is expected to start falling between 5 and 8 p.m. today, then will change to a wintry mix around midnight before transitioning to all rain by sunrise. It is expected that the bulk of the precipitation will have fallen by 9 or 10 a.m. tomorrow (Dec. 9). Forecasters are calling for between 2 and 4 inches of snow, sleet and freezing rain. According to University Park Snow Marshal Lloyd Rhoades, another consideration will be a steep drop in temperatures that will come Wednesday evening. "The difficult part of the forecast is that tomorrow night we are expecting a drop to very cold temperatures, with daytime highs only in the 20s for Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows during those days will be mostly in the teens," Rhoades said.

TRUDEAUX TO KNEIB.
Kneib to Trudeaux.
Trudeaux to Kneib.
Two of Temple's best ball-handlers, Rick Trudeaux and John Kneib, stood like Easter Island statues in Chuck Taylors, passing the ball back and forth for minutes at a time. With no shot clock to stop them, the Owls had decided before their game with host Tennessee in the Volunteer Classic on December 15, 1973, that no matter how ugly or boring it was, or how badly they desecrated the game of they were going to stall.
For Temple coach Don Casey, this was the Owls' best, and perhaps only, way to best Tennessee.
"Tennessee had a great team," Casey says. "We thought this was going to give us the best chance to win. So we took two guys and put them out by the 28-foot line, had them standing about five feet part, and we had them pass the ball back and forth, back and forth.
"This was uncharted territory. We didn't know exactly what we were doing. It got to the point where we said, "Well, what should we do next?"

I invented a new word: monoplexy. It doesn't have a definition, though - I invite suggestions! What do you think it would mean? (I've got no preconceived ideas about it...) |
